("Endurance") (NYSE:ENH) today announced that it has delivered a proposal to the Board of Directors of Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited ("Aspen") (NYSE:AHL) to acquire all of the common shares of Aspen for $3.2 billion, or $47.50 per Aspen share, with a combination of cash and Endurance common shares. |
Endurance Specialty Holdings is a holding company. Through its operating subsidiaries based in Bermuda, the U.S. and the U.K., Co. underwrites property and casualty insurance and reinsurance. Co. focuses on the underwriting of specialty lines of insurance and reinsurance. Co.'s operations are organized into two business segments: Insurance, which is comprised of four lines of business: agriculture, casualty and other specialty, professional lines, and property, marine/energy and aviation; and Reinsurance, which is comprised of five lines of business: catastrophe, property, casualty, professional lines, and specialty.
