CyberOptics, Inc. (NASDAQ:CYBE) today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Laser Design, Inc. (LDI), a 3D metrology company headquartered in Minneapolis. The approximately $3.0 million all-cash transaction is expected to close in February 2014, pending approval by LDI's shareholders. LDI, which will be operated initially as a wholly-owned subsidiary, is forecasted to have a minimal impact on CyberOptics' consolidated bottom line performance in 2014. |
CyberOptics is a developer and manufacturer of high precision sensing technology solutions and system products for inspection and metrology. Co. also develops and manufactures its WaferSense® products, a family of wireless, wafer-shaped sensors that provide measurements of critical factors in the semiconductor fabrication process. In addition, Co. manufactures 3D and 2D optical sensors for use in its own proprietary inspection system products and for sale to original equipment manufacturers, system integrators and end customers in the surface mount technology and semiconductor capital equipment markets.
