Southside Bancshares, Inc. (Nasdaq:SBSI), parent company of Tyler, Texas-based Southside Bank, and OmniAmerican Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq:OABC), the holding company for Fort Worth, Texas-based OmniAmerican Bank, announced today that they have signed a definitive agreement under which OmniAmerican will merge into Southside. The combined company will have nearly $5 billion in assets and will be the ninth-largest bank headquartered in Texas, by deposits. |
Southside Bancshares is a bank holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. is a financial institution that provides financial services to individuals, businesses, municipal entities and nonprofit organizations in the communities that it serves. These services include consumer and commercial loans, deposit accounts, wealth management, trust and brokerage services. Co. provides deposit accounts with a range of interest rates and terms, including savings, money market, interest and noninterest bearing checking accounts and certificates of deposit. Co.'s trust and wealth management services include investment management, administration of irrevocable, revocable and testamentary trusts.
