Buyback Details: Educational Development Corporation ("EDC", or the "Company") (NASDAQ: EDUC) (http://www.edcpub.com) today announced that its Board of Directors has approved a new share repurchase program authorizing the Company to repurchase up to 800,000 shares, representing approximately 10% of the Company's outstanding common stock. This new plan replaces the existing stock repurchase plan which was approved by the Board of Directors in April 2008, and has approximately 600,000 shares remaining available for repurchase.

Educational Development is the publisher of Kane Miller children's books; Learning Wrap-Ups, maker of educational manipulatives; and SmartLab Toys, maker of STEAM-based toys and games. Co. is also the U.S. Multi-Level Marketing distributor of Usborne Publishing Limited children's books. Co. sells children's books educational toys and games and other related products through two business segments: Direct Sales Division, which sells Co.'s books and products through independent brand partners direct to the customer; and Publishing Division, which markets through commissioned trade representatives who call on retail book, toy and stores along with other retail outlets.
