JAVELIN Mortgage Investment Corp (JMI) Javelin Mortgage Investment is a real estate investment trust that invests primarily in fixed rate and adjustable rate mortgage backed securities. Some of these securities may be issued or guaranteed by a U.S. Government Sponsored Entity (GSE), such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or Ginnie Mae. Co. also invests in other securities backed by residential mortgages, for which the payment of principal and interest is not guaranteed by a GSE or government agency. Co. also invests in collateralized commercial mortgage backed securities and other mortgage related investments, including mortgage loans, mortgage related derivatives and mortgage servicing rights.
