Entergy is an integrated energy company engaged in electric power production and retail electric distribution operations. Co. operates two segments: Utility, which generates, transmits, distributes, and sells electric power, and operates a natural gas distribution business; and Entergy Wholesale Commodities, which owns and operates nuclear power plants in the northern U.S., and sells electric power produced by those plants to wholesale customers. Co. also owns interests in non-nuclear power plants that sell electric power to wholesale customers. As of Dec 31 2012, Co.'s utility business delivered electricity to 2.8 million utility customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.
