HealthSouth is an owner and operator of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals. Co.'s national network of inpatient hospitals stretches across 29 states and Puerto Rico, and is concentrated in the eastern half of the U.S. and Texas. Co. operates in 33 states across the country and in Puerto Rico and serves patients through its network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, home health agencies, and hospice agencies. As of Dec 31 2014, Co. operated 107 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and 25 hospital-based home health agencies. In addition, Co. manages three inpatient rehabilitation units through management contracts. Co.'s inpatient rehabilitation hospitals provide rehabilitative care.
