Northeast Utilities is a public utility holding company, which is engaged in the energy delivery business through its wholly owned utility subsidiaries, at Dec 31 2012: The Connecticut Light and Power Company served about 1.2 million customers in Connecticut; NSTAR Electric Company served about 1.1 million customers in Massachusetts; Western Massachusetts Electric Company served about 207,000 customers in Massachusetts; and Public Service Company of New Hampshire served about 500,000 retail customers in New Hampshire. Co.'s regulated natural gas utilities, NSTAR Gas Company and Yankee Gas Services Company, served about 272,000 customers in Massachusetts and 212,000 customers in Connecticut.
