With its subsidiaries, joint ventures and associates, it is a global player in platinum group metals and diamonds, with interests in coal, base and ferrous metals, as well as an industrial minerals business and a stake in AngloGold Ashanti Limited. The Company is geographically diverse with operations in Africa, Europe, South and North America, Australia and Asia..
GFI: a South Africa-based gold producing company with a production of 3.64 million ounces per annum from eight operating mines in South Africa, Ghana and Australia. A ninth mine, Cerro Corona Gold/Copper mine in Peru, commenced production in August 2008 at a rate of approximately 375,000 gold equivalent ounces per annum. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2008 (fiscal 2008), the Company had total attributable ore reserves of 83 million ounces and mineral resources of 251 million ounces. FQVLF: is engaged in the production of copper, gold and acid, and related activities, including exploration, development and processing. These activities are conducted principally in Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Mauritania. |
