GNI: owns and leases mineral and nonmineral lands on the Mesabi Iron Range in northeastern Minnesota. As of December 31, 2009, it owned mineral interests in 12,033 acres on the Mesabi Iron Range Formation, including approximately 7,443 acres that are wholly owned. The company was founded in 1906 and is based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. SID: produces and sells steel and steel products for the automobile, civil construction, packaging, home appliances, and original equipment manufacture applications in Brazil and internationally. It offers hot rolled, cold rolled, and galvanized steel products, including general purpose steels, steels for re-rolling, structural quality steels, structural quality steels with formability for cold-formed structural works, high resistance structure steels, corrosion-resistant structure steels, stamping steels, gas container quality steel for pressurized gas containers, bake-hardening steels, pre-configured blanks, welded blanks, high resistance micro-alloy steels, steels for vitreous glazing, steels for electrical uses, and pipe-quality steels for oil, gas, and other pipeline. The company also provides packing steel, which include metallic sheets comprising steel sheet with tin coating and passivation film of chromium composites, and steel sheet with coating of metallic chromium and chromium oxide on both sides; and pre-painted steel roof tiles. In addition, it engages in mining business by owning iron ore mines comprising the Namisa property, Casa de Pedra mine, Arcos mine, and Santa Barbara mine. FRD: engages in steel processing, pipe manufacturing and processing, and steel and pipe distribution activities in the United States. It purchases hot-rolled steel coils; processes the coils into flat, finished sheet, and plate; and sells these products on a wholesale basis, as well as processes customer-owned coils on a fee basis. The company also manufactures, purchases, processes, and markets tubular products, including line and oil country pipes, as well as pipes for structural and piling purposes. It sells its coil products primarily to steel distributors, and customers fabricating steel products, such as storage tanks, steel buildings, farm machinery and equipment, construction equipment, transportation equipment, conveyors, and other similar products; and tubular products principally to steel and pipe distributors, and piling contractors. The company was founded in 1965 and is based in Houston, Texas.
