PFE: is a research-based, global pharmaceutical company. The Company discovers, develops, manufactures and markets prescription medicines for humans and animals. It operates in two business segments: Pharmaceutical and Animal Health. The Company also operates several other businesses, including the manufacture of gelatin capsules, contract manufacturing and bulk pharmaceutical chemicals.
BMY: is engaged in the discovery, development, licensing, manufacturing, marketing, distribution and sale of pharmaceuticals and other healthcare-related products. During the year ended December 31, 2007, the Company had three segments: Pharmaceuticals, Nutritionals and ConvaTec. The Pharmaceuticals segment is made up of the global pharmaceutical and international consumer medicines business. The other two segments - Nutritionals and ConvaTec - comprised the Company's Health Care Group. The Nutritionals segment consists of Mead Johnson Nutritionals (Mead Johnson), primarily an infant formula and children's nutritionals business. The ConvaTec segment consisted of the ostomy, wound and skin care business. LLY: discovers, develops, manufactures and sells products in one business segment, pharmaceutical products. The Company also has an animal health business segment. It manufactures and distributes its products through owned or leased facilities in the United States, Puerto Rico and 25 other countries. Eli Lilly and Company's products are sold in approximately 135 countries. The Company also conducts research to find products to treat diseases in animals and to increase the efficiency of animal food production. Its principal products include Neurosciences products, Endocrinology products, Oncology products, Cardiovascular products, Animal health products and Other pharmaceuticals. |
